No one wants unwanted hair. And while bold brows are still a thing, there’s a big difference between a bold brow and wild, unkempt brows. There are countless ways to tame those brows, but the most popular tend to be waxing, plucking and threading. Each option has its own pros and cons, but waxing and plucking tend to be the least convenient as you usually need to schedule a time with an aesthetician or threader. And plucking can be a painful experience. So, if you’re extremely pain averse, low on time, and need to be able to tame those brows any time any place, Flawless Brows promises to make those wayward brows behave. So, today’s post is a review of Flawless Brows, which is the sister hair removal product to Finishing Touch’s Flawless which offers hair removal for larger areas on your face.

Now, full disclosure, I used to be a fan of threading and would go every 2 weeks like clockwork. I stopped a
few years ago because I don’t have the world’s fullest brows. So, in
order to achieve a perfect arch, it felt like the threaders would over
pluck my brows—even when I told them not to. So, about 2 years ago, I
stopped threading and now I just clean up my arch myself by tweezing.

How it Works

Flawless Brows promises to work in a fairly straight forward manner without any pain. This pen-like device is battery operated which makes it travel friendly. To operate simply click on the device and use it in a circular motion over unwanted brow hair to remove that hair. The build in LED light and smaller surface head helps you to accurately pinpoint hair.

What I Like:

  1. In terms of portability, Flawless Brows meets that goal. It’s about the same size as a lip gloss tube, making it perfect for travel or even if you decide to do some quick grooming in the office bathroom.
  2. The built-in LED also is useful so that you can see what you’re doing.
  3. If you’re extremely averse to any kind of pain, and makes it impossible for you to deal with tweezing, threading or waxing, Flawless Touch is 100% pain free.

What Could Be Better:

While Flawless Brows is painless and portable, it’s a stretch to call it the most efficient form of hair removal I’ve ever tried. When you see the commercials, it’s implied that the hair is removed at the root—as if the device is really an epilator.  In reality, this is really just a sleek shaver. Normally, whether it was threading or tweezing, I can go two weeks between touch ups. With Flawless Brows, within four to five days, I had stubble on my brows.

Probably my biggest pet peeve is that this device required multiple passes over the same area to finally “catch” the hair and remove it. When you watch the commercial, it seems like all you have to do is lightly swipe the Flawless Brow device above, below and between your brows and instantly clean them. But when you actually get this device, the instructions say that you have to hold the skin tight with one hand and then work in a circular motion over your skin with Flawless Brows to remove hair. And while I did get most of the unwanted hair with one pass, it took multiple passes for me to truly clean up my brows—often on long hairs that should have been easily caught up the first time.

I was concerned that this was happening because of user error on my part, but a quick Google search of customer reviews on Amazon and other sites showed that this was a common complaint.

The Verdict:

If you’re extremely pain adverse to any type of discomfort, Flawless Touch is a good alternative for you because you won’t feel any kind of pain while using it. The most you might get is the smell of burning hair—which can be disconcerting if you’re not used to it, but is in no way dangerous.

While this does remove hair, unless you’re traveling on an extended vacation where it would be impossible to sneak a razor past TSA, are the type to set up last minute date nights even when you go too long between professional brow touch-ups, or are in a serious pinch you’ll probably find that this isn’t going to be your first brow maintenance choice.
